Citizenship Award Winner—Kalea Tober

March 24th, 2021

Kalea Tober is a Grade 2 student at École Westlock Elementary School. She was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Krystan Properzi.

Kalea displays kindness to others and often goes out of her way to make others feel good. She asks other students to play at recess if she sees they are playing alone. She does the same if someone is left out during partner work in class.

Kalea works very hard to achieve her goals. She is a problem solver and knows what it takes to do a good job. She asks questions when she is unsure and always tries her best. In the nomination, her teacher mentions during a writing assignment, when asked if she needed help, Kalea replied, “I’ve got this Mme. I just need a little more time.”

Kalea will call out others who may say or do something that is unkind. Her teachers admire her courage to do what is right and to explain to others why certains actions are unkind. She is a great role model for her peers, has a great sense of humour and can easily make others smile.

The school board is pleased to present Kalea with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
