The Home Stretch - A message from the Superintendent

We are three quarters of the way through the school year! And like a third baseman in baseball, our educators and support staff are assisting your children as they try to reach the "home plate" by the end of June. It's the home stretch and we will be making the final push to the end of the school year. Next week is Spring Break and I trust that you are able to take time to relax and be with family and friends and return to school rejuvenated.

Discover Kindergarten with us!
Attend a kindergarten registration and open house event at one of our schools beginning April 3rd. Children who will be 5 years old by December 31, 2019 can register for Kindergarten. See the open house schedule here, learn about busing and find our what to bring to register your child.

Reported school bus 'fly-bys' up 40%

When the flashing reds are on and the stop arm is out, you must stop. But many people aren't stopping. It's called a 'fly-by' — and it's happening far too often. Congratulations to Swan Hills Teacher Michelle Tran has been selected by the school board as this year’s nominee for the ASBA Edwin Parr Teacher Award, which recognizes outstanding first year teachers.

BCHS Curlers win Provincial Gold
The BCHS Mixed Curling team won gold at the Provincial Curling Championships in St. Paul, Alberta on March 7-9. Congratulations to Jayden Cramer (Skip), Tayler Measures (Third), Riley Schaffrick (Second), Keara Cramer (Lead) and their coaches Krista Measures and Dawn Cramer.

Earn an activity grant for your school
The ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge is a brand new annual physical activity challenge that rallies communities coast to coast to sit less and move more together. Organizations including community not-for-profit groups, schools, sport organizations and Indigenous groups are encouraged to apply for small grants ($250 - $1000) to support physical activity programs and events that take place between May 31 and June 16, 2019.
