Citizenship Award Winner—Aidan Laun

June 8th, 2021

Aidan Laun is a Grade 6 student at Swan Hills School. She was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Program Assistant Jaymie Raymond.

Whenever in need of a responsible student, staff look to Aidan. She demonstrates responsibility by always taking the task seriously, without fooling around. Aidan helps and supports others—she is an active member of the patrols, and helps often in other areas such as handbells. She displays kindness to others when working with partners, and allows for other’s opinions to be heard and used as well. She demonstrates strong leadership abilities without power or complete control.

Aidan works towards her goals and achieves good grades. She is honest and doesn’t fool around in the hallway or when asked to do something. Aidan is dependable and as a senior member of the Safety Patrols, she can be seen demonstrating proper technique and safety measures while on duty. Aidan listens to others, including when she sees a student who is upset. She will go to them, listen to their problems, then connect them with their teacher or another adult. She shows concern for others and is often seen comforting students in distressed situations as well.

The school board is pleased to present Aidan with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
