Citizenship Award Winner—Logan Wood

June 18th, 2021

Logan Wood is a Grade 4 student at Fort Assiniboine School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Principal Lorna Hiemstra.

Logan is a hard-working young man who demonstrates responsibility. He can be depended on to complete assignments, be a person of his word, and make positive choices. Logan is a leader by example and his peers have great respect for his calm demeanor, work ethic, and ability to “stick to it” and “do the right thing”.

Logan instinctively looks to help and support others. On the playground he always makes sure that younger students are included in the soccer game, passes them the ball, encourages them, and makes sure older students treat them fairly. He cheers all players who make a good pass or score a goal, regardless of which team they are on. In the classroom, Logan quietly supports students, calmly giving encouragement when needed. He recognizes when someone is struggling academically or emotionally and is a reliable shoulder to lean on.

Recognized for his honesty, Logan’s classmates look to him for his opinion on many issues and show him the utmost respect. When the classroom has a substitute teacher, Logan often steps up and assists the substitute by honestly sharing what should be done. If there is a dispute on the playground, students ask Logan for assistance in deciding what is fair.

The school board is pleased to present Logan with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
