R.F. Staples Hosted Senior Girls Invitational Tournament on February 24-25

The Senior Girls’ team took gold over Grande Prairie.

Divisional Junior High Boys/Girls Tournament at Barrhead Composite High School on February 27

1J North Central Girls Zones at Neerlandia on March 4

The Neerlandia Eagles Gr. 8/9 girls take gold and the Pembina North Community School Panthers won bronze.

1J North Central Boys Zones at Thorhild Central School on March 3

The Pembina North Community School Panthers brought home bronze.

3J North Central Zone Tournament hosted by R.F. Staples March 3-4

R.F. Staples JH Boys take gold in the final against Parkland.

Though they did not take any hardware, the R.F. Staples JH Girls team played hard!

3A Girls North Central Zones at Hilltop High School in Whitecourt March 10-11

R.F. Staples Girls T-Birds won gold in the final against the Barrhead Composite High School Gryphons who took home silver.

3A Boys North Central Zones in Morinville March 10-11

The R.F. Staples and BCHS senior boys’ teams played in the zones tournament in Morinville on March 10-11. The R.F. Staples T-Birds and BCHS Gryphons both finished the tournament with one win and two losses in very close games.

3A Provincials in Wetaskiwin March 16-18

The R.F. Staples Senior Girls team made their first appearance at provincials since 1969. The team ended the playoffs with 2 wins, 2 losses and ranking 6th in the province overall.
