Board selects Chair and Vice chair

August 31st, 2018

At their August 30th meeting, the PHPS Board of Trustees chose Jennifer Tuininga to serve as Chair and Wendy Scincki to serve as Vice chair for the 2018-19 school year.

Tuninga has served as Board chair since August 2015 and is in her second term as a trustee. As Board chair, Tuininga will preside over all board meetings, will work with the superintendent to set the agenda for board meetings and will be the spokesperson for the school board.

“It is an honour to serve as Board chair. We have a strong board of elected trustees who are engaged in their communities and bring a wealth of experience to the table. With the administrative team we will continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of students, and that align with the division priorities of building relationships, literacy, numeracy and diversity,” says Tuininga.

Scinski, who is new to the position of Vice chair, is in her first term as a trustee. As Vice chair, Scinski will fill in when Tuininga is not available.

“I have been fortunate to serve on the Pembina Hills Public Schools board for the past year. I am honored to serve as the Vice chair for the 2018-19 year. I remain committed to being an advocate for the staff, students, parents and community to ensure education is a priority,” said Scinski.
