Board visits Vista Virtual School

April 18th, 2023

The Pembina Hills Board of Trustees had the opportunity to visit the Vista Virtual School (VVS) campus in Calgary on Wednesday, April 12.

Trustees heard from VVS administration on some of the recent celebrations and challenges at the school such as centralizing to one campus in Calgary and taking on their own distribution system.  VVS administration also noted the school’s pride in serving students across Alberta and beyond, and in their staff. The trustees also took part in a campus tour.

VVS has provided quality distance education since 1996 and is the largest school in Pembina Hills. The school currently offers nearly 300 grades 1 to 12 courses and is serving ≈ 5500 full-time and part-time students. Students can attend VVS exclusively (primary students) or take courses through VVS while registered in another school division. The school also serves adult students seeking continuing education.
