Citizenship Award Winner — Ava Miedema

May 30th, 2023

Ava Miedema is a Grade 3 student at Neerlandia Public Christian School. She was nominated for a Citizenship Award by teacher Cinnamon Thompson.

Ava is always eager to participate in classroom activities. She is a student who always animatedly has her hand up with an answer ready to go. She brings a friendly and positive attitude to the classroom and always has a smile on her face or a funny joke at hand. Ava is not a student who is ever discouraged. She has an incredible gift of receiving and giving feedback. She is always willing to try again and doesn’t shy away from admitting when she needs help. Her respectful way of helping her classmates is admirable and helps make the classroom a safe place to learn.

Ava is an incredibly social person. She has close friends that she can often be seen interacting with. She is also a person who notices everyone around her and with her kind personality, she is quick to invite others to join her or leave her group so someone isn’t left out. She has a very gentle way of supporting others when letting them know they are doing something incorrectly be it in their school work or in their social interactions. Ava stands up for what is right but does so with kindness and respect for those involved.

Ava has an incredible work ethic. She is excited to be at school and learn. She is a very curious young person and takes that curiosity very seriously, routinely discovering new things and showing that is not only completed, but also full of extra details.

The Board of Trustees is pleased to present Ava with a Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community.

Congratulations Ava!
