Citizenship Award Winner—Bentley Gravel

May 11th, 2020

Bentley Gravel is a Grade 1 student at École Barrhead Elementary School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by teacher Toni Liber.

Bentley demonstrates responsibility in many ways. In the classroom, he keeps his desk neat and tidy. He always has everything he needs and he knows which day it is in case he needs to pick up his little sister from Kindergarten. Bentley has adjusted well to distance learning, finishing his work in plenty of time. He shows up ready to go and full of smiles for every Google Meet scheduled with his teacher.  He is dependable and has handed in every assignment since his class began distance learning.

Bentley is great at helping and supporting others. When he has finished his work in class, he offers to help his classmates. If he sees someone upset, hurt or sad he will ask if they are ok and offers to help. He shows concern for others and is always the first one to volunteer to jump in and lend a hand.

Bentley enters the school and classroom with the biggest and brightest smile every day. He loves being at school and has a positive attitude each and every day. Bentley sees the good in every situation, even if something bad happens. Even during distance learning Bentley is eager to get to work to learn more.

Bentley displays kindness to others and is always ready to lend a hand to anyone that needs it. He is a good friend to all of his classmates, is a great leader, and will help anyone that may be unsure of how to do something. He is honest and does not like to break any rules. He is great at making sure that others around him also know that being honest and following the rules is the best way to a happy classroom.

The school board is pleased to present Bentley with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
