Citizenship Award Winner—Brennan Properzi

June 8th, 2021

Brennan Properzi is a Grade 6 student at École Westlock Elementary School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Robert Weiss.

In his homeroom, Brennan constantly models the virtues of respect, kindness, and perseverance while demonstrating many other qualities that make him a leader among his peers. Although quiet, Brennan has an infectiously positive attitude which helps brighten the spirits of those around him.

He is very driven and passionate when working towards a goal. On multiple occasions, he has put extra effort in to learn and refine a given skill. Weiss says, “He takes pride in his abilities, and has worked hard during his Grade six year to truly do his best. He gets to work as soon as a task is given and is not afraid to ask questions if he does not understand.”

In Phys. Ed. class, Brennan has demonstrated that he is a team player, dependable, and is always willing to do what is best for the team. On a normal year, he can be found tearing up the ice during the winter months as a member of the Westlock Warrior’s, his minor hockey team. When the snow and ice is gone, he uses his talents as a member of the Westlock Rock, his Lacrosse team. During recess, Brennan will often give up his time to help organize Fox’s Treats, or tend to odd jobs.

Brennan helps and supports those in the class who struggle and is always willing to help them when he can. He will make sure he passes the ball or lets them take turns before him. He is truly compassionate.

The school board is pleased to present Brennan with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
