June 24th, 2021

Jayleana Baron is a Grade 12 student at Barrhead Composite High School. She was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Rebecca Carr.

Jayleana demonstrates responsibility through her involvement in the school Leadership Group, advocating for and participating in student activities. She displays kindness to others, has a positive attitude, is punctual, and always willing to go the extra mile. She is also innovative, and willing to try new ideas.

Jayleana has been involved in 4-H in our community and has also participated in the Skills Alberta Competition on two occasions. She is a driven individual, who works well with others, and will make an excellent leader. Jayleana helps and supports others through organizing activities such as school dances, concession sales, and promotion of student events. She creates slides for school announcements, and is involved in the 4-H Colour Day, serving cake every year at our school, to promote awareness of 4-H initiatives and achievements.

Jayleana works towards goals as she has plans to go to university and has applied for scholarships and other opportunities to help her get into a suitable program for her needs. She shows concern for others and is dependable. As a work experience student last year for a Grade 7 Language Arts class, she worked well with the students and addressed the needs of students who required extra help.

The school board is pleased to present Jayleana with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
