Citizenship Award Winner—Jonathan Tang

Jonathan Tang is a Grade 7 student at Vista Virtual School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Michelle Blagdon.

Jonathan is dependable and displays an excellent work ethic. He is a motivated and independent student with a great love of learning. Jonatan takes responsibility for assigned school projects while at the same time helping his autistic brother achieve his goals. Jonathan’s mom is an essential worker and when his family needed more assistance with his brother, he did not hesitate. With the extra responsibilities, he continues to work towards his goals to make sure he is maintaining and reaching the academic standards that he sets for himself. 

Jonathan is very active in his community, including a community initiative to help shovel snow, mow lawns and collect groceries for people who need assistance. Jonathan also gives his time to the Dream Center to help clean their outside space before putting on educational sessions for the community. He definitely understands the importance of helping and supporting others and being involved in his community.   

The school board is pleased to present Jonathan with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
