Citizenship Award Winner – Keeley Miller

June 12th, 2019

Keeley Miller is a Grade 9 student at Pembina North Community School (PNCS) and was nominated for the Citizenship Award by teacher Carling Montgomery. In her nomination, Montgomery says, “Keeley is a model citizen and leader at PNCS.” She demonstrates kindness, especially with the younger students in the school, making it a priority to learn their names and talk to them when she sees them in the hall.  “Their little faces light up when this ‘big kid’ not only pays attention to them but is truly interested in how they are doing,” says Montgomery.

Keeley is often focused on supporting her peers, helping them while also building their self-esteem. She truly wants everyone to feel as good about themselves as possible. She is also dependable, always volunteering to help staff members with projects both big and small. The students and staff at Pembina North will miss Keeley as she moves on to R.F. Staples in the fall.

The school board is pleased to present Keeley with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
