Citizenship Award Winner — Keltie Tuininga

May 29th, 2024

Keltie consistently demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility in various aspects of school life. She often volunteers to help the Kindergarten class tie skates and be a helper on the ice. Teachers can rely on her for help, getting the necessary art supplies from the art storage room without delay.

Keltie also takes responsibility for her own learning by being prepared and proactive with studying and looking ahead in her schedule to make sure she has enough time for her school tasks.

Keltie is a standout student, consistently demonstrating exceptional skills in all academic subjects and Physical Education. She sets high goals for herself and works diligently to attain them. In Language Arts, she meticulously edits her work to improve sentence fluency and word choice in her written assignments. She is not shy to ask for help if she does not understand a concept and her ability to self-advocate to improve understanding, is commendable.

Keltie displays a genuine concern for the well-being of others. Her kind and empathetic nature shines through as she offers support to classmates in times of distress such as when a classmate gets injured in P.E., Keltie is the first to inquire if a classmate is “okay” and will often sit next to the injured person on the bench to keep them company or run to the office for an ice pack. Keltie also strives to include others and easily invites them into the conversation or activity.

The school board is pleased to present Keltie with the Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community.

Congratulations Keltie!
