Citizenship Award Winner—Lena Baron

Lena Baron is a Grade 1 student at École Barrhead Elementary School. She was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Jody Hancock-Conner.

Lena demonstrates responsibility when it comes to getting her schoolwork done during our remote learning. She reminds her mom about her online work and Google Meets with her teacher, and follows online meeting etiquette. She has a positive attitude, both in and out of the classroom. She shows up and is a cheerful, encouraging presence for her classmates and teacher.

Lena consistently works towards her goals – she always puts in a strong effort, asks thoughtful questions during online Meets, and has worked especially hard on improving her writing. Lena is dependable and is always ready for her online Meets and live lessons. She completes all her work and practices reading and math in her online apps. Lena shows remarkable self-motivation for a Grade 1 student.

The school board is pleased to present Lena with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
