Citizenship Award Winner—Miles Gitzel

May 14th, 2020

Miles Gitzel is a Grade 6 student at Dunstable School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Principal Tammy Tkachuk.

Miles is an extremely responsible young man. He can be counted on in the classroom to do what is expected of him and to put his best foot forward. A respectful, diligent, and trustworthy young man, he is always willing to lend a hand around the school and is a wonderful role model for our younger kids.

Miles is amazing at helping and supporting others, especially younger students in the school. He is always willing to lend a hand during Bear House activities and as a kindergarten buddy. Principal Tkachuk says she enjoys watching him work with younger students, noting his patience and kindness. As a member of the school’s Student Leadership Group, Miles is also active in planning dress up days and activities for others.

Miles is a very dependable young man, always completing his work on time. In the classroom, he can be counted on to take the initiative to not only finish his work but to then work ahead or read quietly while others are finishing up. Tkachuk says, “In this time of COVID-19, I often receive weekly assignments from Miles before noon on Monday, demonstrating his dedication to his studies and his dependability.”

The school board is pleased to present Miles with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
