Lorna Wiedrick receives Exemplary Support Services Award

Lorna Wiedrick is a Program Assistant at Westlock Outreach. She has been with Pembina Hills for over 7 years.

Lorna wears many hats at the Westlock Outreach School. She is the first point of contact at Outreach. Her tasks involve building a program for many students who have not been successful in a traditional program, those who are trying to excel and supplement their program with ADLC course and everything in between. Many students come without a plan and Lorna is able to help them work out a graduation plan.

She works as an academic advisor, counsellor, program and administrative assistant. Lorna also spends much of her day working in assessment.  She is a critical asset to the student services team.  Lorna is always looking at creative ways to support and accommodate the needs of students.

Lorna recently completed her Diploma in administrative assisting. She has also volunteered time and energy to work with the basketball program. Lorna personifies compassion and empathy. She is incredibly patient with staff and students regardless of how busy she may be.

With Lorna’s support, Outreach is a safe and caring place where students can be successful in completing their high school program. She is a personable, honest, hardworking individual who is self-motivated and capable of reaching any goal she sets. Lorna is valued in her role at the Westlock Outreach School.
