Wenda supports the literacy program with reading groups and is always there to support staff with literacy information and resources. Wenda has been invaluable in providing additional support for students who struggle with reading and has been an integral member in creating the school’s reading intervention program.

Wenda goes above and beyond as she spends many hours of her own time developing her ability to understand and deliver the various intervention programs. As each group presents with different reading challenges, Wenda delivers a wide range of activities and programs. This is a challenge and she is extremely successful in meeting it.

Wenda is always willing to try new things and is very creative in developing and seeking out engaging and appropriate activities for this wide range of students from Grade 1 to 6. When working with her reading groups, you can often hear them laughing and enjoying their activities.

Wenda has also been active in furthering other PA’s knowledge of the reading programs within our building. She is perceptive of when she can offer her assistance to other PA’s and provide guidance and suggested activities that we have developed in our reading intervention programs.

Wenda has been asked to do a variety of tasks throughout the last 3 years; from moving furniture to supporting at-home learning to juggling her outside supervision schedule as well as in-class support. No matter what she is faced with, she completes all tasks with professionalism, efficiency and innovation.

Wenda is very willing, able and adaptive to any programs or strategies that come her way. Her invaluable skills, knowledge, creativity, innovation and drive make her an amazing asset to the Barrhead Elementary School team.
