Update 1:00 pm – As per RCMP direction, the Hold & Secure at RF Staples and Westlock Elementary has now ended. We thank all staff, students and parents for their cooperation.

Westlock RCMP have advised R. F. Staples Secondary School and Westlock Elementary School to be placed in Hold & Secure this morning around 10:25 am. Both schools are currently complying with this request and all staff and students are safe. The school will remain in Hold & Secure until we receive further direction from the RCMP.

Please do not come to the school and pick up your child. Staff and students are in no immediate danger. This is a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.

RCMP have committed to providing updates to Pembina Hills School Division on this situation. As new information becomes available, it will be shared directly with parents and posted on our website www.pembinahills.ca.
