Alberta Distance Learning Centre, Barrhead –
ADLC—Supporting Alberta schools since 1923
Principal Steven Kaplan updated the school board on the many organizational changes undertaken by ADLC, as part of their recommitment to the Service Agreement with Alberta Education. Alberta Education funds ADLC to serve all Alberta school jurisdictions.
Offering 273 programs to over 1,200 partner schools, ADLC provides two key services to schools across the province:
- Student instruction – ADLC teachers deliver courses and provide instruction to students
- Teacher support – ADLC provides Alberta teachers access to all of their courses so that they can be used as resources in their classroom
With the centralization of staff to Barrhead last fall, ADLC is a bustling place! Staff shared stories and activities with trustees about what it’s like to be a distance learning teacher and teach from afar.
