Students in Mrs. Anne-Marie Tyrell’s Grade 2A class at École Barrhead Elementary School (BES) are celebrating an exciting musical achievement after being recommended to represent their school and community at the provincial level following their performance in the Barrhead Rotary Music Festival in March.
The young performers impressed the adjudicator with their enthusiastic and polished renditions of Lazy Little Hippo and The Wind. Their hard work, creativity, and confidence on stage earned them a recommendation to advance to the provincial music festival—an honour that recognizes both musical excellence and dedication.
As part of the next step, the class has recorded their performances and submitted them for adjudication at the provincial level. They now eagerly await results, which are expected to be announced in May.
This achievement highlights not only the students’ growing musical talents but also the importance of arts education in fostering confidence, teamwork, and self-expression at an early age.
Congratulations 2A!
