Pembina Hills School Division is proud to recognize Nicole Batty of Barrhead Composite High School as the recipient of the Citizenship Award for the positive contributions she makes to her school and community.
Nicole has a remarkable gift. She sees people not just for who they are, but for who they could become. Guided by a simple principle – treat others as you wish to be treated – she looks for potential, not flaws, and then she acts. She gives freely of her time, supporting her peers in the halls, in classrooms, and wherever she goes. Nicole doesn’t just participate in our school; she builds a community where everyone feels seen and supported.
Her citizenship extends beyond kindness. Nicole is committed to personal growth. Since starting high school, she has raised her own expectations, chosen challenging courses, and steadily grown her skills and confidence. She sets goals – and achieves them. Nicole decided to pursue high-level academic programming and complete high school early. She made a plan, worked through her summers, and remained motivated even when the subjects were tough. She didn’t just meet her goals; she mastered them.
Nicole is also unquestionably dependable. When she makes a promise—whether to help a classmate or commit to a demanding program – she follows through. She knows how to pace herself, make adjustments, and always honor her commitments.
Nicole is a true role model: sensitive, ambitious, and dependable.
Congratulations Nicole!
