The school board is pleased to present the Citizenship Award to Tatiana Monro, a Grade 7 student at R.F. Staples Secondary School, in recognition of the positive contributions she makes to her school and community.
Success in school isn’t just about what one person achieves alone; it’s also about how they help those around them grow. Today, we recognize a student who embodies this principle every single day. Whether in the classroom, at a school event, or simply in the hallway, Tatiana consistently puts others first and leads by example.
When tackling a difficult new concept in class or working through a complex activity, Tatiana is often the first to step in – not just to complete the task, but to ensure her peers understand it as well. She has a rare gift for explaining things with patience and clarity, making everyone around her feel more capable.
Beyond her academic leadership, Tatiana is a constant source of positivity. We’ve all seen her face challenges with a smile, staying upbeat even when the work gets tough. That kind of optimism is contagious, transforming a quiet classroom into a motivated one.
Perhaps most importantly, Tatiana is the definition of dependable. From Student Council projects to the behind-the-scenes effort of setting up and cleaning up school events, she is always present. She doesn’t wait to be asked; she sees a need, takes initiative, and follows through every single time.
Congratulations Tatiana!
