The school board is pleased to present Katelyn, a Grade 6 student at Busby School, with the Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community.
Katelyn is a highly responsible student who consistently demonstrates maturity and strong work habits in everything she does. She arrives prepared, completes her classwork and homework on time, and is often one step ahead of classroom routines, anticipating what comes next and helping ensure others are ready as well. She also takes responsibility for her own learning by staying focused, asking thoughtful questions, and working hard to deepen her understanding.
Katelyn is also very goal-oriented. She is always willing to put in extra effort to improve her skills and take on challenges. In mathematics, she consistently excels in her daily practice, and in writing she works carefully to improve detail, grammar, and structure. Beyond the classroom, she demonstrates the same determination—practicing daily for cross-country, earning a top-10 finish, and competing at provincials in ringette, a reflection of her perseverance, teamwork, and strong work ethic.
Katelyn is also exceptionally dependable. She willingly helps wherever needed in the school, whether supporting younger students, assisting with equipment, or taking care of important classroom and school tasks. She is known for her willingness to help others, and her classmates can rely on her to explain instructions, stay organized, and offer patient support when needed. She approaches every responsibility with care and quiet confidence.
Through her responsibility, determination, and dependability, Katelyn is a strong role model and a valued member of her school community!
Congratulations Katelyn!
