From April 13–17, 2026, we join schools across Alberta in celebrating Education Week, a tradition that began in 1928 as Alberta School Week. This week is an opportunity to recognize the people who make learning possible—teachers, staff, volunteers, families, and, of course, students.
Education Week reminds us that learning doesn’t just shape minds; it shapes the future. In our schools, teachers spark curiosity, students inspire growth, and school staff, volunteers, and families work together to create environments where children thrive every day.
Education Week is a chance for our community to celebrate and reflect on the incredible impact of public education in shaping the lives of every child, in every classroom, every day.
