With over two decades of dedicated service to Pembina Hills, Michelle has consistently exemplified the qualities of an outstanding educator and community member.
Throughout her tenure, which includes impactful years at Jarvie School and the last ten at Pembina North Community School (PNCS), Michelle has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her students, colleagues, and the school community. Notably, her adaptability and resilience shone brightly during her recent transition from junior high science to Grade 4. Faced with a steep learning curve, Michelle embraced the challenge with her characteristic energetic, determined, and enthusiastic spirit. She invested countless hours mastering new teaching practices, assessment methods, and curriculum delivery, resulting in a classroom filled with engaged and joyful learners.
Beyond her classroom excellence, Michelle’s passion for sports and athletics has profoundly impacted countless students. Her dedication to coaching, particularly volleyball, has fostered teamwork, skill development, and lasting memories. She selflessly dedicates her time to ensuring students have access to recess equipment, manages the school’s paper recycling program, and coordinates recycling efforts to fund school trips, such as the Grade 4 field trip to Drumheller. This trip, a community highlight, is a testament to her commitment to creating lasting and enriching experiences for her students.
Michelle Rau’s drive, energy, and unwavering dedication to making PNCS the best place for students and staff are truly inspiring. She is a shining example of what it means to go above and beyond and she is a most deserving recipient of the Exemplary Teacher Service Award.
