Nicholas (Nick) was born and raised in Fawcett, Alberta, on a small family farm. He is a lifelong learner and has pursued a wide range of interests in his adult life, including attending the jazz guitar program at Grant MacEwan College, obtaining a certificate in Turfgrass Management while employed at Hidden Valley Golf Course, and completing an Associate Degree in Classical Piano Performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music. 

Nicholas and his wife moved back permanently to the area in 2019. His first post within Pembina Hills School Division was as a secondary mathematics instructor at the Alberta Distance Learning Centre. He left the teaching profession in 2023 to pursue a career in accounting at a firm in Westlock and is a new father as of February 2025.
