This winter has certainly tested all of us. Across the division, heavy snowfall, blowing snow, freezing rain, and difficult road conditions have created many challenges for our transportation team, students and families. Despite the unpredictable weather, one thing has been clear throughout it all — the incredible strength and generosity of our communities.
Time and time again, when a bus encountered deep snow or challenging road conditions, help was never far away. Parents, neighbours, farmers and community members stepped up without hesitation — clearing approaches, helping shovel out buses, and even bringing tractors or trucks to lend a pull when needed.
These small acts of kindness have made a big difference. To everyone who has stopped to help, cleared snow from bus turnaround spots, or offered a helping hand along the way — thank you. You have helped our drivers continue their routes and ensured students were able to get to and from school safely. Your willingness to step in reflects the spirit of community that makes our division such a special place.
We would also like to recognize and give a shout-out to our dedicated bus drivers, who navigate rural roads with care and professionalism every day, and our transportation shop staff, who have gone above and beyond this winter — often dropping what they are doing to respond to road calls and support buses when help is needed.
As much as we look forward to the arrival of spring, we know winter weather is not over yet. We appreciate parents’ ongoing patience and understanding when weather conditions create delays or unexpected challenges!
