Board of Trustees Accepts Resignation of Superintendent

November 23rd, 2023

The Board of Trustees has accepted the resignation of Superintendent Michael Borgfjord, effective May 31, 2024 (or earlier upon mutual agreement). He has accepted the Superintendent position at Black Gold School Division.

Mr. Borgfjord has served as Superintendent of Schools for the Pembina Hills School Division since September 2021. He has made many contributions to our division in his time here, working tirelessly on building relationships with trustees, staff and students, facilitating broad collaboration among all stakeholders and championing a student voice initiative, all with a focus on creating successful and positive learning environments.

Judy Lefebvre, Chair of the Pembina Hills School Board expressed her appreciation and optimism “I am so proud of the accomplishments we have achieved as a division. I want to extend my appreciation and confidence in our leadership team. Our principals, teachers, parents, volunteers, school communities and all stakeholders in the division continue to inspire all of our students to reach their full potential. On behalf of the Board, we thank Superintendent Borgfjord for his leadership, dedication, and compassion. We wish him all the best in his new position.”

Superintendent Borgfjord will continue to work diligently with the Board and all staff to ensure a smooth transition. The Board will soon begin the recruitment process for a new Superintendent and will continue the work on established division priorities.
