Citizenship Award Winner—Adam Drake

May 31st, 2021

Adam Drake is a Grade 9 student at Pembina North Community School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Mike Ivey.

Adam demonstrates responsibility in several ways. He always has his work completed and is very on top of his learning. Last year, he was shown how to clear the outdoor rink ice with the snowblower and sweeper last year, and has taken responsibility for the rink, keeping it cleared off for all of the other grades to be able to skate. He always comes prepared for the weather and goes right to work. He demonstrates a very impressive understanding of the ice machines and staff feel very comfortable that he was using them safely and responsibly.

Adam helps and supports others, always willing to help others with their work when they need it. He is a great teammate in all of the sports he plays. He is a skilled athlete, but is supportive of everyone on his teams. Adam has also shown strong leadership on his junior high intramural teams, past volleyball teams, and as a goalie for his hockey teams.

Adam has a positive attitude and always puts his best foot forward. Even with those cold, wintery days he would go out to clear the ice for everyone else—no questions asked. He likes to be challenged and takes on new things head-on, never making excuses. He is very friendly, polite, and easy to talk to at school.

The school board is pleased to present Adam with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
