Citizenship Award Winner—Amaya Seatter

June 14th, 2021

Amaya Seatter is a Grade 7 student at Neerlandia Public Christian School. She was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Teacher Lise Wruk.

Every morning Amaya greets both staff and students with a friendly smile. Amaya is a positive role model to others—when others complain about wearing a mask, she quietly wears one, and continues to maintain recommended distance as well as good hygiene practice. This positive attitude towards rules and authority also is apparent in her respect towards staff and peers.

Amaya is truly a thoughtful friend who displays kindness to others. When a peer is in need of work supplies or a listening ear, she is there. If someone is having an off day, she seems to pick up on it, and takes the time to listen and help. Her empathy towards others is easy to see. This once very shy student will even seek out a staff member to assist a classmate in need.

Amaya works towards goals, taking on each task with a pleasant determination. She uses class time well and always gives her best. When it is time to work on an assignment she is motivated to use class time well and continues to push herself to achieve excellence. In addition to attaining academic excellence, Amaya is also learning to play musical instruments and participates in sports, such as swimming.

The school board is pleased to present Amaya with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
