Citizenship Award Winner — Billy Lewis

Billy is a Grade 10 student at Swan Hills School. He was nominated for a Citizenship Award by his teacher Kim Hooey.

Billy is someone you can count on. His dedication and leadership in his role as the Div. 3/4 Student’s Union President this year has been instrumental in creating a positive environment for all students. His work and volunteering have made for successful fundraising efforts in working towards the Students’ Union goals. As someone who is dependable, Billy does not miss any meetings. He can also be counted on to ensure events runs smoothly, frequently giving up his own time and in making sure he fulfils his obligations. 

Billy has a way of maintaining order at meetings while making sure each members’ voice is heard. He encourages the members to report to their classes to solicit input on the many decisions made by the Student’s Union. He is described as being very approachable and will take the time to listen to those who want to share their perspectives prior to him making decisions.

The school board is pleased to present Billy with a Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community.
