Citizenship Award Winner—Hosea Walter

June 23rd, 2021

Hosea Walter is a Grade 4 student at Sunny Bend Colony School. He was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Program Assistant Christa Seatter.

Hosea demonstrates responsibility by taking care of his work, his school supplies and classroom supplies such as books, desks, and manipulatives. When Hosea sees a teacher or classmate who needs a hand he will lend one of his, often without being asked. Hosea is always ready to read and learn with his book and pencil during Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) time.

Hosea is always positive and has a great relationship with his teachers. He is pleasant and willing to take on the tasks his teachers ask him to do. Seatter says, “We can be sure that at the end of the day, whatever cleaning job Hosea has been assigned, it will be done to the best of his ability, and done with pride.”

When Hosea makes the wrong choice, he is honest. He always admits to it when asked by his teachers, even when he knows there will be a consequence. And when Hosea is asked to do a task, he always follows through. He is dependable and takes pride in helping his teachers, classmates and completing his work. Seatter says, “He often would help carry my bags to my car each day, when I had to go to Pibroch.”

The school board is pleased to present Hosea with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community. Congratulations!
