The school board is proud to recognize Lucian Rioux as a recipient of a Pembina Hills Citizenship Award. Lucian is a grade 7 student at R.F. Staples Secondary School (RFS) and was nominated by teacher Jessica Stevens.
Lucian’s thoughtful actions, respectful nature, and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on those around him. In physical education class, Lucian stands out as someone who consistently supports and uplifts his peers. Whether he’s explaining the rules of a new game, cheering on his classmates, or offering help to someone who needs a bit of extra guidance, Lucian demonstrates what it means to be a true team player. His encouragement and inclusiveness help foster a positive environment where every student feels welcome and motivated.
Lucian also leads by example when it comes to respect. He listens carefully, treats others with fairness, and approaches every interaction with kindness. Whether he’s taking turns, playing by the rules, or showing good sportsmanship, Lucian ensures that everyone feels valued and supported. His actions promote a classroom culture where everyone feels safe to participate and have fun.
In addition, Lucian consistently shows concern for the well-being of others. He’s quick to check on classmates who might be hurt or upset and never hesitates to include those who seem left out or unsure. His empathy, gentle encouragement, and awareness of others’ needs create a compassionate and inclusive space for all.
Lucian is a role model whose everyday actions embody the spirit of citizenship. The school board is pleased to present Lucian with the Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community.
