The school board is proud to honour Micah R.L. with a Pembina Hills Citizenship Award in recognition of his outstanding character, dedication, and leadership within the school community. Micah is a grade 12 student from R.F. Staples Secondary School (RFS) and was nominated for an award by his teacher, Quinn Shelton.
Micah is a student who consistently demonstrates responsibility and initiative. When he realized he needed additional credits to support his post-secondary goals, he took the lead in exploring options, working collaboratively with staff to find a solution. His proactive approach and determination to succeed highlight his commitment to personal growth and future aspirations.
In addition to his own pursuits, Micah is a generous and supportive peer. Whether he’s coaching classmates in afterschool band, encouraging others during difficult moments, or quietly stepping in to lend a hand, Micah lifts those around him with kindness and care. He goes out of his way to support younger students, offering help and encouragement regardless of how well he knows them.
Micah brings a consistently positive attitude to everything he does. His cheerful, upbeat presence is felt across classrooms and hallways, even when he’s faced with challenges. He’s a dependable and respectful team member who listens thoughtfully to others, engages in meaningful conversations, and builds strong, respectful relationships with both peers and staff.
Known for his reliability, Micah communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, and is always prepared. He notices when others are struggling and is quick to offer help or a kind word, reflecting a deep sense of empathy and concern for the well-being of others.
Micah embodies what it means to be a good citizen—responsible, kind, driven, and deeply engaged in the life of his school. The school board is pleased to present Micah with the Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community.
Congratulations Micah!
