Citizenship Award Winner — Mosca S.

Mosca leads by example in her community, demonstrating the qualities of a PHSD Citizenship Award winner. One of her core values is helping others, which is evident in her daily life. She supports her mother by taking on household chores such as laundry, dishes, cooking and meal preparation for their family of six, easing the burden on her mother.

In addition to school and her household duties, Mosca volunteers as a unit assistant in the dementia unit at Brentwood Care Centre, where she plays a vital role in helping patients calm down and de-escalate situations. She is a good listener and offers companionship to those who may feel isolated. Mosca believes that listening is an essential part of life, and her presence provides a valuable outlet for others.

Mosca’s exceptional work ethic carries over into her academic pursuits. She is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and dedicated to doing her best. Her teachers appreciate her organizational skills and thoughtful communication style. They find it refreshing to teach her.

Mosca’s service to her community, her dedication to her family, and her commitment to her education make her a role model for others to follow.

The Board of Trustees is pleased to present Mosca with a Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community.
