Russell Wanzo is a grade 6 student at Busby School. He was nominated for a Citizenship Award by Busby School Principal, Angie Bachand.

Russell consistently exemplifies responsibility, integrity, and compassion in all aspects of his school life. He is described as having a strong sense of responsibility, actively engaging in lessons, participating thoughtfully, and eagerly seeking ways to improve his work. He is dependable, always prepared, and proactively offers assistance to both classmates and staff. His ability to manage his own learning while supporting others showcases a remarkable maturity.

A natural helper, Russell consistently goes out of his way to support those around him. He approaches classmates who are struggling or in need of encouragement with patience and kindness, ensuring everyone feels included and respected. His willingness to help stems from a genuine desire for the success and well-being of his peers.

Russell brings a positive and uplifting energy to every interaction. He approaches tasks and challenges with optimism and a can-do attitude. Even when faced with difficulties, he remains focused and upbeat, inspiring those around him. His positive mindset contributes significantly to a warm and encouraging classroom environment.

Beyond his supportive nature, Russell is a vocal and passionate advocate for justice. He demonstrates a remarkable social awareness by speaking out on important issues such as food insecurity. His courage to stand up for what is right, even when it’s challenging, positions him as a natural leader and a powerful role model within his school.
