David is a grade 12 student at Vista Virtual School. He was nominated for a Citizenship Award by teacher Joy Trick. 

David demonstrates that he is a mature and responsible learner. As highlighted in his nomination, he takes the initiative to ask questions for clarification, showcasing his commitment to understanding the material and willingness to seek support when needed. He is diligent in following his teacher’s directions and consistently keeping on track with his learning timeline demonstrating ownership and development as an independent learner. 

David is described as respectful and polite. In an online environment where clear and considerate communication is paramount, David’s respectful demeanour contributes positively to collaborative and supportive interactions with his teachers.

David has also been recognized for being dependable in his online engagement. His consistent attendance at scheduled online sessions, or proactive communication when rescheduling was necessary, demonstrates a reliable and respectful commitment to his online learning and to his teacher’s time. 

The school board is pleased to present David with the Citizenship Award in recognition of the positive contributions he makes in his school and community.
