Lalenya’s passion for teaching shines through in every interaction with her students. Since joining the R.F. Staples Secondary School team nine years ago, Lalenya has excelled as a Senior High English and Social Studies teacher. Her classroom is a vibrant hub of learning, where students are encouraged to think critically, explore their creativity and develop a love of learning. Lalenya masterfully blends rigorous academics with engaging activities, seamlessly integrating pop culture elements to make learning relevant and meaningful for her students.

Beyond her exceptional teaching skills, Lalenya is a valued colleague and mentor. She consistently goes above and beyond, supporting her fellow teachers and providing guidance to students navigating post-secondary education. Her dedication to student success is evident in the countless hours she devotes to extracurricular activities, most notably her instrumental role in directing acclaimed Dream Merchant Theatre productions.
