All Pembina Hills staff had the opportunity to gather in Westlock for the Division Opening Day on Friday, September 15. They spent the day learning about resilience from Dr. Michael Ungar, a world-renowned resilience expert. The morning session was focused on student resilience and Dr. Ungar presented information on what children need to create and maintain Psychological Resilience, how to assess a child’s individual resilience resources and how the school environment fits into it.
The afternoon was geared towards the resilience of staff where Dr. Ungar spoke about how important it is to understand your own level of resilience, how to build it and the strategies for success.
Thank you to Dr. Michael Ungar for his presentation! See more information about resilience and Dr. Ungar’s work at https://www.michaelungar.com/.
