Pembina Hills staff gathered for the division opening day at the Westlock & District Community Hall on Friday, August 26. The energy of the room was palpable with staff being able to visit and enjoy a meal together, in-person, with their colleagues. Staff were welcomed back in an opening address from the Board Chair, Trustee Judy Lefebvre followed by a guest speaker and a message from Superintendent Michael Borgfjord.

This year’s opening day guest speaker was Steven Brinder; a school teacher by day and comedian by night. Steve has been in education for the last 40+ years and provided some welcome, and relatable, comic relief for staff.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have Steve join our staff for the opening day and looking forward to a great year ahead!
