It’s Substitute Teachers’ Appreciation Week, March 11-14 and a good opportunity to salute all our excellent substitute teachers!

S   Significant – Substitute teachers provide support and maintain structure by helping students stay on track with their learning 

U   Unsung Hero – these individuals step in at a moment’s notice to ensure that students continue learning even in the absence of their regular teacher.

B   Brilliant – Even in temporary roles, substitute teachers demonstrate their brilliance in navigating the challenges of education 

S   Stewards – Substitute teachers are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining a productive learning environment

T   Transformative – Substitute teachers bring a fresh perspective and new teaching style that can inspire students to contribute.

I   Integral – Substitute Teachers are integral in providing the excellent education the Division strives toward.

T   Trust – These individuals build trust with students, staff and parents to carry out their duties as substitute teachers

U   Unexpected – Substitute teachers are often called in at short notice. Their role is crucial in maintaining continuity 

T   Teach – the core function of a substitute teacher is to instruct and facilitate learning. They offer their ability to effectively teach and manage classroom dynamics to ensure a productive learning environment.

E   Expertise – Substitute Teachers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom, sharing a plethora of knowledge.
