The Alberta Teachers’ Association announced this morning that teachers would initiate strike action on October 6, 2025 if a negotiated settlement with the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) is not reached. No further details on the nature of the potential strike were given, nor has formal legal strike notice been provided.

What does this mean right now?

There is no change to school operations. Schools remain open and classes are continuing as scheduled.
