Voter information for school trustee elections

Pembina Hills Public Schools is holding elections for two school trustee vacancies in the Westlock Ward. See the complete nomination list.
Election day is on Monday, October 16, 2017. Advance voting is also available prior to election day. Voting locations and times are listed below.

Electoral Subdivision 2 – Westlock South

Voting stations will be open on Monday, October 16, 2017 between the hours of 10:00 am and 8:00 pm at the following locations:

  • Westlock County Residents
    • Westlock Royal Canadian Legion, 10004 – 106 Street, Westlock
    • Busby Hall
    • Clyde Community Hall
    • Pembina Heights Hall
    • Vimy Community Hall
  • Village of Clyde Residents — Village Office, Council Chambers, 4812 – 50 Street, Clyde

Advance voting stations will be open on Thursday, October 12, 2017 between the hours of 10:00 am and 8:00 pm at the following locations:

  • Westlock County Residents — Westlock County Office Administration Building, 10336 – 106 Street, Westlock
  • Village of Clyde Residents — Village Office, 4812 – 50 Street, Clyde

  • Westlock Community Hall, 10711 – 104 Ave, Westlock (Located on Hwy 44)
  • Institutional Voting locations (For Residents only)
    • Pembina Lodge, 10247 – 104 Street, Westlock — 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
    • Smithfield Lodge, 10203 – 97 Street, Westlock — 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
    • Westlock Long Term Care Centre, 10303 – 96 Street, Westlock — 2:00 to 3:00 pm
    • Westlock Health Care Centre (for Town patients only), 10220 – 93 Street, Westlock — 2:00 to 3:00 pm

Advance voting stations will be open on Thursday, October 5, 2017 between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm at the Westlock Heritage Building, 10007-100 Ave, Westlock.

Voter eligibility

In order to vote you must:

  1.  be at least 18 years old,
  2.  be a Canadian citizen, and
  3.  have resided in Alberta for the 6 consecutive months immediately preceding election day and your place of residence is located in the area on election day.

You must also provide identification — including one or more of the following:

  • Photo Identification with name and address that is issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial local, or an agency thereof) – Examples: Operator/Driver’s License; Government Photo Identification, OR
  • Identification authorized by the Chief Electoral Officer under the Election Act with name and address, including:
    • Bank/Credit card Statement or Personal Cheque
    • Government Cheque or Cheque Stub
    • Income/Property Tax Assessment Notice
    • Insurance Policy or coverage card
    • Utility Bill
    • Vehicle Ownership or Insurance Certificate

Note: If you reside within the Evergreen Catholic Regional Division No. 2 area of Pembina Hills Regional Division No. 7 and are of the Catholic faith, you are deemed a resident of the Evergreen Catholic Regional Division No. 2 and are not a resident of Pembina Hills Regional Division No. 7 – Section 44(4) of the School Act.
